Greetings from ICWE Thrift Credit cum store cooperative society ltd with its registered office at Sagolband Bijoygovinda Kelli Makhong,Imphal Manipur was established in the year 2010 exclusively by a group or socio-economically deprived womens ,these group of womens were mobilized from downtrodden and poorer section of society.Some of them were un-employed,semi-illiterate,literate with schedule casts  etc. This cooperative society was registered under the Registrar of cooperative societies Govt. of Manipur.

The main objective for starting this all women cooperative society is to start a major cooperative movement for socio-economic empowerment of the deprived and destitute women covering in the state of Manipur.In recent years ,this all women cooperative society has incorporated a major component of awareness compaign on "BETI BACHAO BETI PARAO"(save girl child,educate  girl child)one of the major Flagg-ship programme of Govt of India.This compaign was incorporated in its all activitivities conducted at various villages of the valley districts of Manipur. 

Realizing the facts that the empowerment of women will not be achieved unless they are empowered with basic economic support enabling them to take part in family economic affairs  and partly bearing the cost of their children rearing etc. However without strengthening womens economic status and make economic contributions in the family or in the society ,their roles in the family as well as in the society will not be recognized,therefore all efforts made for women empowerment will be no use.

Citing above the reasons as guiding factor this all women cooperative        movement was started by a dedicated group of women led by Secretary Latashakhi Salam who had also been involved in womens'entrepreneurs'movement in the field of entrepreneurship.

She ( L S Salam,secretary of the society)was conferred 2(two) National Awards .The Awards are:-

1 On 21st September 1989 "BEST WOMEN ENTREPRENEUR AWARD 1988" was received presented by National Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (Womens Wing),New Delhi

2  On 23rd September 1994,Ministry of Industry,Small Industry Development Organisation,Govt. of India presented National Awards to small scale entrepreneurs (Specia lRrecognition Award). Under the guidance of her the ICWE thrift credit cooperative society ltd is regularly graded by Registrar cooperative societies Govt. of Manipur . In the year 2010 the society  stared its operation with "C"grade with meagre funds from own members sources and providing small micro credit finances to the society members only. Being the demands of the small credit facilities increases ,the society decided to extend support to other non-members women too.which turned to be a successfull activities with good recoveries and refinances.

In the year  2012-2013

considering its successfull operation in the microfinance activities to the deprived womens,the registrar cooperative societies Govt of Manipur had upgraded the society into "B"grade.Further the Govt of Manipur finally upgraded this society into "A"grade in 2015-2016 in recognition of its successfull operation.

Today,the society is operating in the valley districts of Manipur with meagre funds from our own source.So far the society has provided different skill development programmes to womens and support finance to the 200 trained womens for their product target who are in real need and they are making their regular repayment without having any hassles. These womens are engaged in amall time economic activities on daily basis supporting their families in a big way.
